Tree surgery regulations

There are and have been for quite some time very strict laws on trees and the enviroment. As associate members of the Arb Association we have to ensure we are aware of all the regulations and and adhered to them. There can be unlimited fines imposed to land owners and tree surgeons if any infringements occur.
Some laws dictate the time of year when you can perform certain tasks on trees and hedgerows, whilst other laws cover what type of trees or hedgerows you can work on without getting permission first from your local planning office. There are also other laws which cover wildlife and the environment, for example the consideration of bats and crested newts.
